Wedding Locations in Port Douglas
Choosing the perfect wedding location may feel like no easy feat, but you can relax knowing that there are a hundred and one reasons to say “I do” in the beautiful beachside town of Port Douglas. Celebrate just footsteps away from the ocean on Four Mile Beach, or at the dreamy St. Mary’s by the Sea chapel. The choice is yours, and one thing is for sure – nothing beats getting hitched in the tropics!
We are about to share the most amazing places to be married in Far North Queensland. After all, who doesn’t want to tie the knot in paradise?
St Mary’s by the Sea
You’ll find this gorgeous little church in Rex Smeal Park, situated on the foreshore of the Dickson Inlet and surrounded by palm trees. It’s a breathtaking space to say the least; there’s plenty of natural light, it’s painted white with ocean-inspired interiors, stunning stained glass windows, and a spectacular view of the sea behind the altar.
There are also fantastic photo opportunities in the green gardens, on the picturesque beach, or on the Sugar Wharf. St Mary’s is an air-conditioned venue with a capacity of 100 guests, which makes it a great place for an intimate gathering.
Four Mile Beach
To make the most out of your wedding day in Tropical North Queensland, plan a remarkable ceremony on the idyllic Four Mile Beach. Your loved ones can come together and watch as you exchange vows overlooking white sand and turquoise waters. Keep the day simple and elegant with this one-of-a-kind backdrop and red roses to decorate.
There are various packages that include things like music, flowers, and a chauffeur depending on your desires. Keep in mind that there are multiple nearby beaches to choose from such as Oak Beach, Thala Beach, and Pretty Beach. Click here for more about these beach wedding packages.
Sugar Wharf
There’s no surprises why the iconic Sugar Wharf is one of the most popular wedding destinations in FNQ. Located just moments from St Mary’s church, this historic venue is the perfect place for an unforgettable ceremony and the reception of your dreams.
Set up outdoors in the sea breeze with fairy lights covering the deck, and enjoy scenic views of the inlet, Coral Sea, and Daintree mountains. While this is a brilliant spot for smaller groups, there is a guest capacity of 300 people if required. Click here for more information.
Palm Cove
A forty-minute drive south of Port will take you to the luxurious oceanside town of Palm Cove. Get married in the afternoon sunshine on the beach, or at the breathtaking Alamanda Great Barrier Reef chapel on the waterfront. All expectations will be exceeded at these heavenly locations for both you and your new life partner!
Palm Cove Weddings offer multiple packages that range from a simple elopement to a glamourous beach ceremony inclusive of hair, makeup and professional photography. Click here for more about the award-winning Alamanda chapel. Any celebration in this glorious setting will be one to remember!
Cape Tribulation
Escape the crowds and plan a blissful wedding where the rainforest meets the reef in Cape Tribulation. This area is one of the most protected and untouched areas in all of Queensland, so getting married in the tropical oasis will be a truly incredible experience. The unique location is ideal for a small group of guests as it’s located 1.5 hours north of Port Douglas.
Drive through the ancient Daintree National Park before arriving at one of Australia’s most surreal landscapes on Cape Tribulation beach. You’ll be surrounded by your closest friends and family, phenomenal nature, and the calming sound of the ocean – what a way to spend your wedding day!
