For many years Carnivale has been recognised as the event of the year in balmy Port Douglas, and it promises a massive weekend full of celebration, entertainment and exciting festivities with something for everyone to enjoy! Live Music
During this blissful late afternoon event, Rex Smeal Park will come to life buzzing with talented musicians and friendly crowds who set up alongside the tropical palm trees and the sweet sounds of the Coral Sea.
The night will kick off at 5pm, and this is when you can grab a general admission ticket at the gate. Get ready to dance the night away and listen to some sweet, sweet tunes in paradise.
The Longest Lunch
Take a seat by the ocean under the palms in Rex Smeal Park and indulge in an array of mouth-watering foodie goodness during the Longest Lunch from 11:30am to 3:00pm. Sit back and enjoy this lazy day of indulgence and delicious food – it doesn’t get much better than this! Your ticket will include four tasty courses and matching wines. This outstanding event is organised by Ochre Catering and has been a huge hit during past years of Carnivale.
Family Beach Day
An all time favourite during the Carnivale festive season – bring the family along and enjoy a jam-packed day full of fun in the sun with plenty of kid friendly activities that are situated right on the beautiful Four Mile Beach.
Get all hands on deck and dig up a masterpiece for the sand castle competition for your chance to win from an incredible prize pool, or put on your dancing shoes and join in on a Latin Samba class by the seaside! There will also be an adrenaline pumping skydive performance that you can watch unfold right from the beach.
Street Parade
This is an awesome way to experience the community spirit of Port Douglas during this weekend of celebration, and Macrossan Street is where you’ll find the locals and travellers alike when the ‘Tropical Magic’ Street Parade takes off next year.
There will be plenty of music, funky street performances, amusement rides and food stalls to keep you entertained all night long. We can’t forget about the captivating fireworks display that really kicks things off with a bang!
Seafood Extravaganza
Each year, the extraordinary Seafood Extravaganza event at the Crystalbrook Superyacht Marina showcases the very best of Port Douglas produce for all to enjoy for free! Get in early and head to the boardwalk for your share of delightful seafood goodness from juicy prawns to locally caught reef fish, and then make a day of it and listen to the live bands by the water with a refreshing beer in hand.
Out!
Carnivale is introducing a new and exciting event in 2019 that has come at the perfect time to celebrate the YES vote for marriage equality in Australia. Out! is bringing their Cairns show to Port Douglas, and it will take place after the fireworks display on the evening of the street parade. Come along for this fantastic LGBT event that will be packed full of fun, partying and DJ’s.
